SHARING THE BRONZE CNTCB YURKOWSKI

CWTC PRICHARD

GARTAGANIS
Enters quarter-final of CNTC

CHAN FALLS, BUT ADACHI FORGES ON
June 22, Saturday

In the CWTC Alberta's SHARP didn't give ADACHI much trouble as the BC team won their semi-final match 158-88. The CROSBY/PRICHARD match on the other hand was very close right up til the end when Bridge Week Chair Kismet Fung and the rest of the CROSBY team emerged enough ahead to move into the finals, 127-113.

In the CNTCB many thought the event would be a slam-dunk for CHAN but surprising CHARI bumped them out of the event after Chan was unable to recover from a poor 2nd quarter result. PULLES won handily over YURKOWSKI, 162-52. Many attribute that success to their Marguerita Defense.

The CNTCA Round Robin is over - the top 6 teams move on. Teams 1 and 2 have a bye tomorrow, teams 3-6 must play for the other two semi-final berths. Draws were not available at this time (11pm PST) but I will have them and any missing score details up in the morning. NOWLAN (1) and FERGANI (2) get the byes. GARTAGANIS and JONES placed 3 and 4, and there is a tie 5/6 between TODD and MAKSYMETZ.
