Canadian Bridge Championships - the national event
 

I. INTRODUCTION

A. The objectives of the Canadian Open Pairs Championship (COPC) are:

i) to provide a method for periodically determining a Canadian Open Pairs Champion
ii) to hold a National Final at a common site to provide a forum for Canadian players from across the country to play and meet each other
iii) to conduct a National Championship in which players may participate at the club level

B. The event shall be numbered according to the year in which the National Final is held.

C. The event shall be held in two stages:

i) Club Level
ii) National Level

D. The pair winning the National Final will have their names inscribed on the R. James Donaldson trophy as the Canadian Open Pairs Champions.

E. Cash prizes will be awarded at the National Final. First Place pair will win $1500 and second place pair will win $750.

II. SCHEDULE

A. Club qualifying games will be held between September 1 and December 31 of each calendar year.

B. National Final will be held at the Canadian Bridge Championships.
