Canadian Bridge Championships - the national event


DETAILS

The competition will be held as a National Final only. No pre-registration is required. Entries are purchased prior to game time on the first day of competition.

1. The National Final will be held at the Canadian Bridge Championships each year. It will consist of two stages:
(a)RoundRobin
A two day round robin with each team meeting every other team, with Victory Point scoring.

(b)Knockouts
The top four teams from the round robin portion of the event will advance to the knockout portion of the final.
The team finishing first in the Round Robin may choose their opponent from the teams finishing 3rd and 4th.
i) Semi-Final - 60 board match
ii) Final - 60 board match
2. An entry fee shall be charged for all phases of the National Final. (Round Robin and Knock-Out phases)
3. An International Fund Surtax will be added to the National Final entry fees. A surtax of $100 per team will be included
in the entry fee for the Round Robin of the CSTC National Final. A surtax of $100 per team will be included in the
entry fee for the Semi-Finals and Finals. The money raised by these surtaxes will go into the CBF International Fund
and will be used to subsidize the CSTC winner to International Competition.
4. Screens and bidding boxes will be used for the entire National Final.
