MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
of the Canadian Bridge Federation
Welcome to the 2010 Canadian
Bridge Championships. We are excited to have the championships
back in Toronto after a four year absence. With, among
other things, free parking and easy access to a wide variety
of restaurants we hope that you’ll find the venue
to your liking.
Hospitality
Our hospitality team led by
Helen Johnston, Lorna Johnson, and Robert Hanly has worked
hard to provide you unforgettable hospitality. The hospitality
suite (suite 1402) will be open each morning from 8:30-10:00
for breakfast and at the conclusion of play each evening
for snacks and drinks.
Hall of Fame Induction
Ceremony June 1st
This year marks the inaugural
year for the Canadian Bridge Hall of Fame. Our first induction
ceremony will take place at the conclusion of play on
Tuesday June 1st. Please join us for the induction ceremony
in the Ellesmere West room and for the following celebration
in the hospitality suite.
Thank you
I would like to thank all
the volunteers that helped organize these championships.
In particular I would like to thank Helen, Lorna and Rob
for their efforts in organizing the hospitality, as well
as David Cohen for organizing the BBO vugraph broadcast.
I would also like to thank units 166 and 246 for their
financial and logistical support of the championships.
Finally, I am always interested
in hearing your comments regarding the venue, schedule,
hospitality and anything else that you think can help
us improve future championships. You can provide your
comments and suggestions through our bulletin board at
cbf.bridgeblogging.com.
Good luck, good bridge and
I hope you have lots of fun.
Nader Hanna
President, Canadian Bridge Federation

A MESSAGE FROM THE
WEBMASTER
June 6:: Congratulations
to winners and organizers. I'd like to thank everyone
who wrote in with bugs and tweaks - I wasn't able to respond
to all the emails but please know that they were all very
helpful.
Many thanks to David
Cohen for his help with programming the results
and for taking time during his own competition play to
trouble-shoot. We're hoping to set up the score-reporting
in a similar fashion for next year and years to come.
Ain't technology grand?
